What is a CSA?
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. CSA farms have been around in America for the past 35 years, breathing life back into small farms. The concept is simple. CSA members buy a “share’ of the farm, in advance of the season, creating working capital for the farmer. The farmer, does everything else: purchases seeds & fertilize, field preparation, sowing and transplanting of crops, weeding and trellising of fields, harvesting, post harvest cleaning/sorting, etc. Then, the CSA Members get to come out to a pickup location and get their weekly instalments of their farm shares. This program helps farmers get the season started, have a guaranteed market for their products, and have satisfied customers that tell others about their farm. As a result, the members to become an integral part of the farm and local food shed. To read more about Our CSA Program click here.
