Strawberry Picking Tours

For years we hosted school groups (Preschool, Elementary, and EC classes of all ages) and we LOVED IT! Then, a series of unfortunate and fortunate events made us put things on pause. My Dad died in October of 2017. Then, Covid hit in 2020-2021. From 2021-2022, we built a Country Store, complete with a deli and hand dipped ice cream and have been getting it under up and going for a couple of years. Read on to learn of what we are offering our community schools and schools in the surrounding counties.

We LOVE growing strawberries, and we also love teaching others the importance of local farms and food sheds, how produce is grown, and offering opportunities for children to get outside of their normal and have a fun day on the farm. Starting the April 28th thru May 30th, teachers can bring their classes to the Farmers’ Daughter for a Strawberry Picking Educational Farm Tour. We offer a SPECIAL hayride to our strawberry fields that is unmatched anywhere else! That’s right, a spring hayride! It will depart from our Country Store and wind its way through our 108-acre Centennial Farm that has been in our family for at least 6 generations. Riders will enjoy seeing the beautiful spring scenery, our family pond, and Barrett’s Mountain in the background. Not to mention going through the heart of our vegetable fields and ending up at our strawberry fields!

Each private field trip is tailored to the age group (pre-K through 4th Grade, plus EC of all ages) and includes:

  • Story Time
  • Strawberry Craft Time
  • Tractor-pulled Hayride
  • Educational lessons on the life cycle of a strawberry plant, photosynthesis and pollination. All taught in our NEW multipurpose shed.
  • Students will pick their very own pint container of strawberries in the field with Farmer Amy.
  • Several photo opportunities, including barnyard cutouts and a group photo spot at the Barnyard Playground.
  • Playtime at our NEW Barnyard Playground.
  • Reserved Covered Picnic Shelter.

The cost of the Field Trip to the strawberry field is $12.00 (tax included) for Students & Chaperones/Siblings. Teachers and a bus driver are FREE. Children under the age of 2 are admitted free. However, they do not get a pint of strawberries (they can help their Chaperone pick theirs though). This field trip opportunity is for school groups of 20 children (paying admission) or more and lasts approximately 2 hours. Additional strawberries are available for purchase at our Country Store.
